About the Conservation Centre

Immerse yourself in nature without leaving the city. The Lekki Conservation Centre is a hidden gem of Lagos, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle. Established in 1990 to serve as a biodiversity conservation icon and environment education centre, it covers 78 hectares of mangroves.

The highlight for most visitors is the Canopy Walkway, the longest in Africa, suspended 22.5 feet above the forest floor. It offers a bird's eye view of the unique wildlife including monkeys, beautiful birds, and rare swamp reptiles.

The canopy walk is definitely not for the faint-hearted but it was an exhilarating experience! The monkeys are friendly but hold onto your snacks. Highly recommend going early in the morning.

Great place for a family picnic. The floor games (Chess, Ludo) were huge and fun. The queue for the canopy walk was a bit long though.
